Meet Heather
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, Co-Founder
Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, burned out, or like you're stuck on autopilot? Are you the one everyone depends on— at home, at work, in your family, while quietly running on empty yourself? You've been carrying the weight of the world for so long that you've almost forgotten what it feels like to set it down.
Here's the good news: this is where you get to put it down for a while. Together, we'll create space for you— to laugh, cry, process, swear, scream, or just breathe. Healing isn't always pretty, but it's always worth it.
Hi, I'm Heather, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, therapist, Co-Founder of Moving Mountains Counseling and Wellness, and, most importantly, a fellow human who understands that life can be both beautiful and really hard at the same time. I specialize in working with people who are feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, or stuck in perfectionism and people-pleasing loops— often caregivers, high achievers, professionals, parents, students, and those living with or supporting someone through chronic or terminal illness. I also work with individuals navigating grief and loss, whether it's the death of a loved one, the loss of health, identity, or a life you imagined for yourself.
My approach blends empathy, compassion, and humor with evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, and Psychodynamic Theory. Fair warning: I'm a firm believer that movement and exercise are some of the best—and most underused—medicines for our mental health!
I believe therapy works best when you can come exactly as you are—unfiltered, unedited, and ready to figure out what actually helps you feel like yourself again. Together, we'll explore the "why" beneath the symptoms and build tools to help you step out of survival mode and into a more peaceful, grounded, and balanced life.
When I'm not in therapist mode, you can usually find me adventuring with my kids, husband, and our two rescue dogs, hiking, trying new restaurants, strength training, watching bad reality TV, traveling, catching a yoga or breath work class, or recharging by the ocean— my happy place!
